The New Search Engine
The new Google - Powered search has now been implemented into the official Second Life viewer. I have to admit I’m starting to like this search engine implementation. One thing that may be cool is that at the bottom of each page is a URL which can be viewed in a browser, this can be great for showing locations and items in Second Life and give details on sims. Useful for those who could be listening to a podcast and want to find out more about a place.

I don’t know. I’m not convinced. I heard google powered and got excited, but now that I use it, it doesn’t seem to show the same results, or anywhere NEAR as useful results, as it used to. Try a partial name of a store, for example - in my limited use, generally it won’t find it.
Maybe it’s just me, or maybe I need to do more testing, but so far it’s not found me a single thing I’ve looked for.

It’s about time they implemented a functional search option.
